June 27, 2018. FAYETTEVILLE, GA – Fayette Senior Services (FSS) welcomes new Center & Volunteer Coordinator, Colleen Davison! Colleen will oversee day-to-day center operations and the FSS Volunteer Program. Colleen grew up in Peachtree City and graduated from McIntosh High School in 2012. After graduating high school, Colleen became involved in the hotel industry and moved to Arizona for work. She worked at “The Grand Hotel” near The Grand Canyon until she moved back home to attend college in 2017. Colleen attended West Georgia Tech and now is in pursuit of a Business Management Degree from Columbia Southern University while working. Her favorite part of working at FSS is that “everyone is so nice, easy to work with, and genuinely helpful.” Colleen is very passionate about FSS’s volunteer program and is working to bring in even more amazing people wanting to give back to this community!
Fayette Senior Services is actively recruiting volunteers to help with every aspect of the organization. “Fayette Senior Services is an incredible place to volunteer where everyone puts specific care into everything they do,” Davison reveals. FSS cannot function without the help of volunteers. As a charity, they are dependent upon the work these individuals do on a daily basis. Opportunities include serving in the Ultimate Café, keeping members safe in the fitness center, registering people for programs at the front desk in Fayetteville and Peachtree City, delivering Meals on Wheels, planning activities with the STARS, maintaining our Tranquility Garden, decorating and planning special events, teaching classes as instructors, planning trips as travel group leaders, and so much more! Volunteering at FSS is a great way to earn community service hours, whether it be for school or clubs or as a team building experience for local organizations. Individuals who participate in at least 75 hours in a year receive a free yearly membership!
If you or someone you know would like to be a part of Fayette Senior Services’ family by making a difference through volunteering, FSS would love to welcome you home! Applications can be accessed online at www.fayss.org or by visiting the Peachtree City or Fayetteville locations to pick one up in person. Once received, FSS will contact you to schedule an orientation and get you involved as quickly as they can. Fayette Senior Services also holds monthly volunteer meetings for new and seasoned volunteers on the 1st Thursday of each month from 2 p.m. to 3p.m at our Fayetteville location, 4 Center Drive. FSS can’t wait to have you join their team!
Join us in celebrating 40 years of FSS serving the Fayette County community. Thank you to our 40th Anniversary Sponsors: Clear Captions, Heartis Fayetteville and Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
