Humana Gives Back to Fayette Senior Services’ Meals On Wheels Program

December 15, 2020. FAYETTEVILLE, GA. Fayette Senior Services, Inc. (FSS), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, recognizes Humana for its generosity in supporting the local Fayette County Meals On Wheels program. Humana recently donated $2,500 to help Fayette Senior Services purchase 20 new, larger coolers for the Meals On Wheels deliveries. The old coolers were aging and needing to be replaced, and Humana’s donation made it possible to have them all purchased to start the new year off with brand new coolers. These coolers are used daily to pack and deliver meals to homebound clients receiving Meals On Wheels.

“We’re thrilled to support the important work the Meals On Wheels program does in our community and so glad our donation will help start the New Year off better for so many,” said Humana senior manager Tami O’Connor.

Each year, a team of dedicated volunteers delivers over 56,000 meals to more than 300 homebound and semi-homebound older adults who reside throughout Fayette County. This effort is a dynamic partnership between the national network of local programs and the businesses, organizations, governments, and volunteers who contribute generously to their communities. To make a difference in the lives of others, join our team of Meals On Wheels volunteers!
